What a Boring Weekend!

Well do you remember what a great time I had last weekend, walking in the wilderness with mom and dad, sniffing out wild animals? Well this weekend: NOTHING. Their idea of a good time was going to Bluff Lake and watching the moon come up. Well of course we didn't see it until it was 20% up, because of the clouds. I can't believe they couldn't figure that out. When there are clouds, you're not gonna see the moon and they really thought they were being cute when they picked a spot where I can't even walk. For some reason Bluff Lake is a designated Wilderness Refugee and I'm not allowed.
This picture you see of me. Well you can tell it's not at Bluff Lake and it's certainly not at dusk on a cloudy day, but mom and dad didn't even take a picture of me this weekend. How Pathetic huh!

Well I better say so long for now, because mom had work to do and I gotta get some stuff done too.

Have a good day and blessings everybody

Mt. Evans Today - Mt. Everest Tomorrow

Well everybody it wasn't as rough at Mt. Evans as everybody said it would be.

Here is my story Conquering Mt. Evans.

This picture shows me scoping out the terraine. Lots of Evergreen Trees, beautiful lush grass (could be weeds), and these really pretty yellow flowers scattered all over the side of the road. Somebody said they were dandelions, but  I assure you they are not. They are such a bright yellow and have a different stem them the dandelion weed. I asked mom and dad to pull over so I could smell them but they said NO, so we'll never know the beautiful fragrance that only I could describe with my expert scent ability.

But moving on with my observation, the roads are narrow and there are these crazy people riding on these contraption that only have 2 wheels. Although they go at a pretty fast pace down hill, they really struggle going up hill. Dad said something about they better be in pretty good shape to do the 14 miles to the top of Mt. Evans. I said they probably have something like stupid plastered all over their forehead.  Then dad explained to me that staying in shape is good for your health and aa long life, so I guess maybe stupid isn't the word, maybe smart is on their forehead.

So we got to Echo Lake and it's was so crowded, that wehad to carry on to Summit Lake. I saw a picture of Sam at Summit Lake and it was beautiful,  crystal clear blue lake, grass and again flowers scattered through out the field looking up to the top of Mt. Evans. For me, it was frozen tundra. As you can see by the pictures below, there is still snow and the grass is barely turning green. But with winds at 30-40 mph and so cold, if I were a blade of grass, I wouldn't grow either.

Mom has a video of me playing in the snow bank you see on the right hand side, so if you'd like to see it, just ask her.

This is a picture of dad and me. You can tell we're in our element up here. The rough terrain, the bitter cold, and becoming one with nature. Truly it's a mans world.

Another picture of Dad and me checking out nature. Do you see the ice on that lake? Doesn't that just scream COLD!.

And Mom and me sitting on a rock. Do you notice how I'm in front of her? It's because I have to protect her from falling off the rock. She is such a sissy. When we were hiking on the rock, she was almost on her hands and knees making sure she wouldn't fall. Me on the other hand I was practically running up and down those paths. Shows my athletic ability huh!

Well finally the day was over. I didn't want it to ever end.   I must admit I was pretty tired though, that high altitude can really tucker a little boy dog out. I slept on mom's lap the whole way home and she rubbed my ears so they wouldn't hurt.

I hope you all enjoyed my adventure. Hope we get to go someplace exciting again real soon and when we do, you'll hear all about it.

Have a great day and blessings.

Wiley Loves Money

Wiley and the Paycheck

Well here I am, contemplating how I'm going to explain this to mom and dad. It tasted so good, the colored paper, the ink, the water marks.... How was I to know when there is paper on the bed, and it has numbers on it and words that say Pay To The Order Of...that I'm NOT allowed to chew it up.
I see dad shred paper all the time and I only thought I was being a good boy and helping, and I know for a fact that my method of shreading something is cheaper than dad's way, because he has to use electricy and I don't, but oh no, here we go again with another life lesson which is...."Wiley if you want to eat and have a roof over your head. DON'T eat dad's paycheck. So I think dad and I have both learned a lesson. Dad doesn't leave checks on the bed and I don't shread them....We'll see who has a relapse first. I'll keep you posted.

Have a wonderful day everybody and Blessings.

P.S. Don't tell mom, but I do sneak into her Stampin' Up! room and eat her card stock (only sometimes though)

Another Story from Wiley the Wonder Dog. - April 2013

Hi Everybody.

         Wiley Contemplating

Well here I sit contemplating what I’m going to do with the bonus check mom got. It wasn't much, but I'm a dog of little needs.

I do think a day at the puppy spa, or maybe I could have my ears pierced, a tail ring. You know something to make me look like a real tough dude dog.

Wiley practicing for the Iditarod
Plus I’m going to start training for the Alaskan Iditarod; I think I’ll need special gloves, boots and ear muffs for that little trip. But there’s something about being able to pull a 400-450 pound sled that people are telling me about now why would they think I needed to worry about that?  I’m seeing joy ride!!!!! (not drive). I’m so excited. I’ll let you know what adventure I get to go on…..oh wait a minute. I think I get to walk around Sand Creek (again) mom just said something about taxes and Uncle Sam. Who is the Uncle Sam? Why does he need all my money? Next time I see this Uncle of mine, we're going to have a talk....a really long talk.

Blessings

Wiley's Little Corner Of The World

This article was written by Wiley in May of 2013. Hope everybody enjoys it.

Well here it is another month and boy is this weather fickle. First we’re playing in the snow and then we’re working in the flower garden, then back to snow puppies (Angels) Don’t you think God has a really funny sense of humor? But it doesn’t matter; I get to be outside either playing in the snow or helping mom dig in the yard to plant flowers. Unfortunately my digging expertise is not really appreciated by this establishment. I guess mom has specific places to dig and all other areas are off limits. I know I have a better sense of where flowers should go and scattered throughout the lawn sound really beautiful to me. But mom says no. So I’m left with only my expert knowledge of landscaping, and I’m willing to share if anybody needs any pointers (not the dog) just let me know and I’ll come over and help or teach your best friend how to help you plant your flowers this spring.

Moving on though I wanted to tell you about a super park that Mom, Dad and I discovered while delivering Stampin’ Up! Orders. We had so much fun, mostly dodging Frisbees, but really a great walk. We walked 2 miles and I really could have walked more. There were so many new smells, the stale water was my favorite, but, mom and dad wouldn’t let me go exploring down there.  Something about them loving me and not wanting me to get some disease. Are parents always this protective, because it’s starting to get on my nerves a little bit? How do they expect me to learn, tap into my wild side or just get downright muddy?

Well again, mom is on a deadline to get this newsletter out today, sooooo I’ll say good-bye for now and wish you all a wonderful day and blessings to all.

Love you

Wiley the Wonder Dog.
